After weeks of promises, gas prices in Eastern Wisconsin have finally dropped slightly.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel in Manitowoc County is down 12 cents from this time last week, according to the AAA Gas Prices webpage.
The local average of $4.39 is the lowest since the start of the month, but $1.92 higher than the five-year lows we saw in January.
This is an average of all gas stations in the County, so individual pumps may show higher or lower prices. Sheboygan County, meanwhile, reported an 11-cent drop to $4.40, while Calumet County’s average is down 12 cents to $4.41.
Outagamie and Door Counties tied for the biggest decline, each showing 19 cents less per gallon with averages of $4.31 and $4.35, respectively.
Brown County’s 12-cent dip leaves that area’s average at $4.36, while Kewaunee County saw an 11-cent drop to $4.39.
The state recovered very well, too, as the entire state of Wisconsin is paying an average of $4.35, 20 cents lower than last week, while the national average rose a penny to $4.49.
