An alleged child abuser from Two Rivers may be heading towards a plea deal.
According to court records, 25-year-old David Flores was released on a modified $2,000 signature bond last month as he has been charged with one felony count of Child Abuse, Intentionally Causing Harm.
His modified bail and release come after he spent the past three months in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail in connection with an incident that occurred in November of last year.
This week, a plea date for Flores was set after he previously pleaded not guilty to the lone charge he faces on March 5th.
This signals that a plea deal may be on the horizon for the 25-year-old. Flores is accused of physically assaulting a child, hitting the victim with a belt before kicking and punching them, and throwing them into a door frame.
The alleged assault is said to have caused visible injuries to the child, whose age was not revealed.
While Flores is now out on a signature bond, he will return to Manitowoc County court on June 26th for his new plea hearing.
