There are a pair of meetings on the docket for tonight (May 18th) in the City of Manitowoc.
The Committee of the Whole will be in the Council Chambers at 6:25 p.m., where they will hear input from the public and review a resolution to authorize the acquisition of Madison School.
Then, at 6:30 p.m., the Common Council will take over the chambers, where they will administer the oaths of office for Training Lieutenant Jeremy Weber and Detective Sergeant Jason Denk.
Mayor Justin Nickels will also read a commendation recognizing the years of service by outgoing Fire Chief Todd Blaser before the council officially votes on the purchase of Madison School.
The resolution states in part that the City will “proceed with a process to market the property and Lakeview Park to all interested third parties for redevelopment.”
It is not clear if any developers have inquired about the properties.
