The Manitowoc County Mariners try for a second consecutive victory this afternoon as they host the Eau Claire Eagles in a Northern Lights Football League game at Rubick Field.
The Mariners used a stifling defense in defeating the Central Wisconsin Wolves last weekend in their home opener.
The game featured two defensive fumble recoveries for touchdowns and a balanced offense powered by the arm of quarterback R.J. Jeffrey and the running of Dilion Williams.
The Eagles have also split their first two games of the season, opening with a victory over the Ter-City Bulldogs while losing last week to the Fox River Raiders.
The kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
