
Some of the most talented high school girls’ soccer teams converge on the Kiel soccer complex to participate in an eight-team invitational.
The host Raiders try to extend their “unbeaten” streak to 16 when they take on a “much improved” Manitowoc Lincoln side.
Kiel is coming off a 3-0 win over rival New Holstein on Thursday, where senior Taavi Saeger recorded a hat-trick to complement what has been a season-long excellent defense.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lincoln comes into today’s match with a record of 8-6-2 and has been very competitive against some of the elite teams in the state.
These two teams have something in common, having played State Power Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay to a draw.
Other matches include Ozaukee/ Random Lake battling Kaukauna, Kewaskum goes against Kohler, and Sturgeon Bay will tangle with St. Mary’s Springs of Fond Du Lac.
All matches are scheduled to begin sat 9 a.m.
Elsewhere in girls’ soccer, Sheboygan North visits Plymouth, Kewaunee is home for Peshtigo, and West De Pere are guests of the Oshkosh West Wildcats.
In high school baseball, Denmark has a doubleheader in Medford, Cedar Grove-Belgium travels to Kewaskum, Green Bay East/ West battles Green Bay Southwest at Joannes Park, De Pere heads to Kimberly, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay visits state-ranked New Berlin Eisenhower, and Sturgeon Bay hosts Sevastopol.
There are also two more doubleheaders on the docket as Luxemburg-Casco plays two in Freedom and Oconto Falls hosts Wrightstown for a pair.
In high school girls’ softball, Manitowoc Lincoln has an FRCC doubleheader at Bay Port while Roncalli, Manitowoc Lutheran, Two Rivers, Kiel, Hilbert, and Green Bay West meet for an invitational at Citizen Park in Manitowoc.
The Manitowoc Lincoln boys tennis team also meets up with Sheboygan South, Plymouth, and host Sheboygan North in a quadrangular meet.
