A valiant defensive effort by New Holstein was no match for the offensive prowess of the Kiel girls’ soccer team last night.
The Raiders walked away on Senior Night with a 3-0 victory, with a familiar name providing all of the scoring.
Coach Mike Pritchard explained that the Husky defensive strategy was a “pack it back” style, with additional defenders tasked with trying to cool off the high-scoring Raider attack.
And that strategy worked for a while, but 51 minutes into the contest, Raider superstar Taavi Saeger found the back of the net with a 25-yard laser, and would add two more before the night was out.
Fellow Senior Jasmine Bink was able to contribute as well, dishing an assist to her classmate in celebration of Senior Night.
The team’s other two seniors, Addison Vogel and Addison Acher, are both currently injured, but Coach Pritchard tells SeehaferNews.com the entire class “have always been a joy to coach. We’ll miss our seniors next year.”
Up next for the 14-0-1 Raiders is a busy weekend at home. Manitowoc Lincoln, Kohler, Ozaukee, Sturgeon Bay, Kaukauna, Kewaskum, and St. Mary’s Springs will be at Fifrick Field for the Kiel Invite.
