Two men are in custody after a joint investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA.
The Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the DEA Green Bay Resident Office, DEA Milwaukee District Office, and Milwaukee HIDTA to target cocaine distribution in the area between January and April.
This led to the arrests of Richard Reed and Ernesto Estrada, who investigators say were conspiring to distribute the drug.
A confidential informant was used to conduct multiple controlled purchases, during which officers seized over three‑quarters of a pound of cocaine.
Estrada was arrested after the execution of a search warrant at his Milwaukee residence, while Reed was arrested by the Brown County SWAT team on an unrelated matter.
Estrada remains in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $250,000 cash bail, while Reed is in the Brown County Jail on an $85,000 cash bond.
The Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit said of the case that they and partnering agencies “remain committed to reducing drug activity through proactive enforcement, intelligence sharing, and strong community partnerships. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity to their local law enforcement agency.”
