Wisconsin’s Senate Majority Leader is responding after a bipartisan bill with Governor Evers failed to pass yesterday.
Yesterday’s Special Session Bill 1 would provide more funding for education and property tax relief to residents.
9th District Senator Devin LeMahieu called what happened the “worst of Madison politics” and blamed Senate Democrats for standing together to “buck their own governor to deny working families tax relief and leave $2.5 billion sitting in a Madison bank account instead of helping schools perform special education services.”
Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Tiffany came out against the bill, calling it a backroom relief deal that does nothing to undo Gov. Evers’ 400-year property tax increase.
