The Village of Cleveland Fire Department has provided more information about a house fire that started yesterday morning.
Cleveland and Newton Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Westview Street just after 8:40 a.m. and arrived to see flames and heavy smoke coming from the second floor.
It took an hour and a half to put out the fire before an excavator was called to remove sections of the walls and roof so crews could fully extinguish the flames.
One person was home when the fire started, but escaped before it got out of control.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire was determined to be a heat lamp that had fallen to the floor.
Cleveland Assistant Fire Chief Dan Bruchkschen thanked some local businesses and residents for providing food for everyone who assisted at the scene.
He also thanked the almost 20 emergency agencies that responded to the fire.
