This weekend was a major success for the Sheboygan County Food Bank.
The nation’s largest single-day food drive, Stamp Out Hunger, was held on Saturday (May 9th) across the country by the National Association of Letter Carriers, including in the Sheboygan area.
Once again, the event was extremely successful for Sheboygan County’s food bank, which received more than 28,000 pounds of food donations from residents.
These donations were collected by local letter carriers from the City of Sheboygan, the Village of Kohler, and Howards Grove.
On this continued outpouring of support, the Food Bank stated, “From bags left by mailboxes to packed trucks and busy sorting lines, Saturday was a great reminder of what happens when our community shows up for one another.”
They also made sure to show their thanks to the Sheboygan Post Office and other volunteers for their role in the event, noting, “We’re especially grateful to the Sheboygan Post Office, letter carriers and volunteers who helped make the day possible. Your time and generosity will help stock local pantries and support families across Sheboygan County in the months ahead.”
Those in the area who did not have their donations picked up on Saturday are welcome to drop them off at the Sheboygan County Food Bank, located at 3115 North 21st Street, during regular operating hours.
