A Manitowoc teen is facing charges after he allegedly broke into and vandalized a Manitowoc apartment.
Manitowoc Police were called to the apartment on Monday after the resident had returned home from vacation to find his apartment in shambles.
The victim told police that they had been in an altercation with an individual who was still in Manitowoc and received a text that read “You’re gonna regret doing that. Hope you had fun.”
Investigators entered the residence where they found eggs broken on the walls, the floor, and two TVs, both of which had been flipped over.
A coffee table had also been overturned, clothes were scattered around the apartment, sinks were clogged and left running, milk was poured on the floor, and two PlayStation 5s had been stolen.
Security camera footage showed a suspect walking up to the door, knocking, and letting themselves inside.
The same individual was then seen exiting the residence with the two gaming systems and was identified by the victim as 17-year-old Drake A. Konen.
The officers spoke with his mother, who let them know when he would be home, and Konen was taken into custody on charges of Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, and Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling.
Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch gave Konen a $1,500 recognizance bond due to his previously clean record.
He was ordered to have no contact with the victim, his residences, and several witnesses in the case.
He is due back in court on June 1st at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 2.
