Manitowoc County was one of 62 Wisconsin counties to see unemployment go up slightly in March.
Non-seasonally adjusted figures from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development show that unemployment was around 3.7% in March 2025 but was only around 3.8% in March this year.
Both figures are lower compared to February this year, when unemployment in the county was around 4.1%.
Sheboygan County also saw a slight increase in unemployment numbers.
It was around 3.9% in March 2026 compared to 3% in March 2025.
The Cities of Sheboygan and Manitowoc saw a slight bump in unemployment from March 2025 to 2026; however, their numbers are lower compared to February 2026.
Calumet, Brown, and Door Counties also saw unemployment increases, but Kewaunee County’s unemployment fell from last March into this year.
