Things will be getting cheesy in Plymouth next month.
The City of Plymouth will be hosting its fourth annual Cheese Capital Festival on June 26th and 27th, promising two days of celebrating the dairy delicacy that put the city on the world map.
Plymouth has garnered the name of the Cheese Capital of the World thanks to international companies such as Sargento, Sartori, Masters Gallery, and Great Lakes Cheese, which account for over 14% of all cheese consumed across the entire country.
To honor this, the Cheese Capital Festival will include a cheese-themed parade, live music, a foam cheese wedge race in the Mullet River, a cheese-eating contest, and more.
All events over the two-day celebration will take place at Stayer Park in Plymouth, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on June 26th, while the cheese parade will kick off festivities the following day downtown on Mill Street.
The event will be free of charge to attend with a long list of vendors set to be in attendance.
More information on the fourth annual Cheese Capital Festival will be released in the coming weeks, such as expected vendors, event merchandise pre-orders, and parade participation applications, and will be available by visiting plymouthwisconsin.com.
