A Mishicot man charged with sexually assaulting his biological daughter was back in court yesterday.
During his initial appearance, 38-year-old Travis Besaw appeared without an attorney, but someone from the public defender’s office made a special appearance to speak on his behalf.
Judge Anthony Lambrecht adjourned the appearance to give Besaw time to look for an attorney.
The 38-year-old is facing charges of 1st-degree sexual assault of a child, repeated sexual assault of the same child, incest, strangulation and suffocation, and soliciting an intimate representation from a minor.
He currently remains in the Manitowoc County Jail on a $500,000 cash bail.
During his bail hearing, it was revealed that he had engaged in sexual activity with his daughter over the last two years, beginning when she was only 14 years old.
He also allegedly offered alcohol and drugs to continue the sexual assault and threatened to turn her in to the police if she didn’t cooperate.
