A weekend fire has left a Manitowoc family without a home.
While few details are available at the moment, we do know the fire started on Riverview Drive sometime in the evening hours of Mother’s Day and left the residence completely destroyed.
We have received confirmation that no one was injured.
A GoFundMe has been started to support the family, which consists of a single, disabled mother, three children, and a dog.
In the GoFundMe, the mother stated, “One of my children was home when the fire started, and the fear of that moment is something I will never forget. As a mother, knowing how close we came to losing everything, including each other, has been incredibly hard to process.”
She also noted, “We do have insurance through State Farm, but the process takes time, and right now we are facing immediate needs that cannot wait. We are not asking for luxury, only help to get through the very basics of survival and stability while we begin the long process of rebuilding.”
