A celebration of veterans is set for Memorial Day (May 25th) in the City of Sheboygan.
The City’s Memorial Day celebration will begin, as is tradition, with a parade at 9:00 a.m. in the Downtown area.
The parade will start at the intersection of North 7th Street and Center Avenue, traveling north to Michigan Avenue, south to North 9th Street, and ending at Fountain Park.
Directly following the end of the parade, a Memorial Day ceremony will be held at Fountain Park, which is set to include “a remembrance of those who gave their lives in service to our nation, as well as a tribute to veterans and active-duty men and women.”
This year’s featured speaker will be Craig Stewart, a United States Coast Guard veteran and the veterans service officer for Sheboygan County.
Stewart also serves as the Chairman of the Military and Youth Foundation.
Sheboygan’s Memorial Day celebration is being held in collaboration between the City, the Sheboygan County Veterans Service Office, and Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses.
Throughout the ceremony, a brat fry will also be held at Fountain Park, with all proceeds benefiting the Military and Youth Foundation and Marine Corps League.
