Court hearings have been pushed back again in a Sheboygan murder case.
Court records show that 19-year-old Onterio Girley was due in court on Tuesday (May 5th) for a scheduling conference as he faces one count of Felony Murder-Armed Robbery for his role in the fatal shooting of teenager Joseph Torres in January.
However, that hearing was pushed back because Girley’s legal counsel, Avery Goodrich Jr., just received over 500 pages of discovery in the case.
A second scheduling conference was requested to allow Attorney Goodrich time to review the documents.
Both Girley and 18-year-old Lawrence Buford have been charged with fatally shooting Torres and severely injuring an unnamed 18-year-old Sheboygan woman.
Buford is alleged to have been the one to pull the trigger and faces charges of First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide, Armed Robbery with Use of Force, and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
He is set to return to court in Sheboygan County for a scheduling conference on May 19th, while Girley’s second scheduling conference will take place on June 2nd.
Until then, Girley and Buford remain confined in the Sheboygan County Jail on $500,000 and $1 million cash bails, respectively.
