There is only one meeting scheduled for today (May 7th) in the City of Manitowoc.
The Crime Prevention Committee will be in the Police Department’s Meeting/Training Room at 6:30 p.m., where they will give the public time to voice input.
Then, after reviewing their usual reports, the group will hear from the Police and Sheriff’s Departments, the school resource officer, and the City Council.
They will also discuss the latest scam to hit the area, known as the lottery scam.
Fraudsters have been calling, emailing, or messaging residents on social media, claiming they have won some sort of monetary prize.
However, in order to “collect” it, the scammer claims you must first pay an up-front fee.
The group will also nominate and elect their Committee Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
This is the final meeting for the week in the Clipper City.
