A local financial institution has awarded scholarships to area students.
Jack Bauer of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Kyle Heling of Sheboygan South High School, and Tracy Arens of Lakeshore College will each receive one of three $1,000 awards from UnitedOne Credit Union.
Bauer is a senior at Lincoln and will be attending UW-Whitewater to pursue a career in finance.
He explains that he wants to help people with budgeting and not stress about bills, loans, or whatever it may be, as well as help people prepare for their future.
Heiling will attend Concordia University and plans to study rehab science and become a physical therapist.
He said one lesson he wants to carry into his future is to never commit to something without committing to the work behind it.
Lastly, Arens is attending Lakeshore College as she works toward becoming a Registered Nurse.
She says she’s committed to finishing her RN and “continuing to serve patients and families with the compassion that first led me into hospice care.”
Jack, Kyle, and Tracy were chosen by an independent panel that judged applicants based on a written essay.
