Two safety divers with the Madison Fire Department managed to pull a kayaker out of the 65-degree water in Lake Monona Sunday afternoon. Three people were rescued, including the children in two other kayaks. The kayak carrying the man who was rescued had tipped over. Witnesses say he was struggling to stay above water and was finding it hard to buckle his life vest and hang on to the other two kayaks. The incident happened at Olbrich Park Beach.
