A crash Tuesday night in Manitowoc resulted in the death of a 21-year-old motorcyclist.
Manitowoc Police Lieutenant Bruce Tuma tells SeehaferNews.com that his officers and Manitowoc Fire Rescue were called to the area of Dewey Street and South 21st Street on a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi.
The preliminary investigation determined the semi, operated by a 61-year-old Two Rivers man, was traveling east on Dewey at 9:45 p.m.
At the same time, a 21-year-old Manitowoc man was driving his motorcycle west on Dewey. The semi was attempting to make a northbound turn when the motorcycle collided with the truck.
The motorcyclist was given lifesaving measures at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.
He was later pronounced dead.
The semi driver was uninjured.
The Manitowoc Police Department extended its condolences to those involved and their families, and thanked Manitowoc Fire and Rescue, Eagle III, Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Manitowoc Coroner’s Office for their assistance at the scene.
