Ascend Services Inc. is asking for volunteers to help with a new art project.
The organization will be painting a mural on Saturday, June 13th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at their building on Meadow Lane in Manitowoc.
The project is in conjunction with Don Krumpos and Erin LaBonte, who are inviting residents of all ages and abilities to help paint a new landmark that celebrates diversity, hope, and personal growth.
Ascend Service Inc. Executive Director Deanna Genske says public art signals a place of creativity and reinforces that “this space is for everyone.”
What the mural will be about was not mentioned by Ascend, but it’s designed to foster neighborhood pride and build lasting connections between neighbors. Painting and supplies will be provided by organizers.
If the weather affects the June 13th date, it will be made up the day after.
