
The Manitowoc Lutheran Track and Field team is having a historic start to the season.
The Lancer boys have taken home first place in five consecutive meets, with the latest coming Friday night at the Brillion “Sting Cancer” Invite.
The Lancers finished with 172.5 points, while runner-up Kiel finished with 156.33.
The relay teams have been dominant, including the 4×200 team of Seniors Ben Harrison, Isaac Wagner, Isaiah Muchka, and sophomore Roman DiMarco, which finished 1st and broke the school record by nearly 1 second with a time of 1:33.13.
Also earning gold medals were the 4x100m relay of Harrison, Wagner, Noah Dillon, and Brody Wieting, and the 4x800m team of senior Josh Sielaff, junior James Glodowski, and sophomores Max Ciha and Elliott Franzen.
Senior Tristan Hulse was a double winner in the shot put and discus, while Muchka took first in the triple jump.
As for the girls, they finished 5th as a team, with the sole first-place finish registered by the 4x800m relay team of sophomores Isabella Eick, Adriel Barthel, Hope Muchka, and Maddie Wusterbarth.
Both teams will be back in action at Hilbert on Friday.
