
State funding will help with road construction in Manitowoc County.
$135 million from the Wisconsin DOT’s Office will go toward 108 county highway projects and 136 town roads.
In Manitowoc County, $582,468 will go toward the reconstruction of County Highway XX.
One road in the Towns of Cato and Liberty will get state funding. Marken Road, located west of Valders and east of St. Nazianz, will receive around $2.3 million in state funding for repairs.
Governor Tony Evers explained, “With over 102,000 miles of local roads in our state, this successful program serves as an important source of funding for local governments to make needed, long-lasting improvements to meet the unique needs of their communities.”
58 villages and cities will also receive a portion of road funding.
The projects were selected to get funding through WisDOT’s Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP).
$100 million from the 2025-2027 state budget went to the program.
