A Two Rivers man accused of stealing $600 worth of Pokémon cards has been sentenced.
38-year-old Brandon E. Hornburg was found guilty due to a no contest plea on a charge of Retail Theft, and was ordered by Judge Robert Dewane to spend 8 days in the Manitowoc County Jail under the Huber Law, but was given credit for time served.
He was also ordered to pay $443 in court costs.
Hornburg was arrested in October after he was seen on surveillance footage putting multiple packs of the cards into a large cooler on wheels at the Manitowoc Meijer store.
With the help of a female accomplice, he left the cooler in the gardening section and then exited the store.
They then came back to the cooler, and Hornburg moved to the checkout.
An employee told him they had to check inside the cooler while he was attempting to pay, but while that was happening, Hornburg removed his card and never paid for the cooler.
