
It’s another busy day in local high school athletics.
BASEBALL
The Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team hosts “Alumni Day” at Bruce Steinbecker Field as the Ships welcome in the Plymouth Panthers for a non-conference game.
Athletic Director Stan Diedrich tells SeehaferNews.com that former players should check in upon arrival, and a recognition ceremony will take place at 4:15 prior to first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
Other baseball games scheduled today include Mishicot travelling to Ozaukee, Reedsville is home for Kohler/Sheboygan Christian, Kiel heads to Howards Grove, Brillion entertains Oostburg, Sheboygan North plays host to Random Lake, Chilton has a non-conference road game at Markesan, St. Mary’s Springs of Fond Du Lac travels to New Holstein, Kewaunee has a road test ay Southern Door and Algoma hosts Oconto for a doubleheader.
SOFTBALL
The Mishicot girls’ softball team begins the month of May with some tough non-conference games, starting with a visit from Peshtigo.
The Bulldogs have won three straight and come to town with a record of 5 and 2 in the Packerland Conference and 7-5 overall.
These two teams last met in 2024 when the Indians swept a doubleheader from Peshtigo, but the one that sticks with both teams is the 2023 sectional final in Peshtigo, as the Bulldogs suffered their lone loss of that season 6-0, sending the Indians to state.
The first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 4:30 p.m.
Other girls’ softball games today have Manitowoc Lutheran heading to Brillion, Valders hosting Oostburg, and Reedsville playing at Howards Grove.
GIRLS SOCCER
Valders travels to Campbellsport, Kewaunee heads to Peshtigo, Cedar Grove-Belgium plays Jacksonville High School of Illinois at a tournament in Bettendorf, Iowa, and Luxemburg-Casco has a trip to Grafton to play the Blackhawks
TRACK AND FIELD
Manitowoc Lincoln has a co-ed meet in Kimberly, Manitowoc Lutheran coming off a great showing in Hilbert on Monday, competes in a co-ed meet in Brillion, while Reedsville and Howards Grove are scheduled to meet at a boys’ varsity Invite in Mishicot.
BOYS GOLF
The latest leg of the FRCC boys golf meet will be held at Mid Vallee Golf Course in De Pere, Two Rivers, Kiel, and Reedville linksters are part of a field to compete at Quit-Qui-Oc in Elkhart Lake, while Mishicot hosts Kewaunee in a dual meet at Fox Hills.
BOYS TENNIS
The Manitowoc Lincoln boys tennis team competed in the De Pere Invitational.
