An upcoming road construction project will prompt a closure in Manitowoc County.
The Manitowoc County Highway Commissioner, Greg Grotegut, has announced that the intersection of County Road XX and Louis Corners Road will be under construction, beginning next week.
This closure comes as the intersection will be reconstructed with work to include the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt pavement, roadway grading, and the installation of a new curb, along with gutter and storm sewer improvements.
While work is completed, a detour will be in place, with drivers from the east asked to proceed north on State Highway 67, turn east on County Road X, and head south on County Road A until making it back to XX.
Drivers from the west are asked to follow the same route but in the opposite direction.
This project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.
While the road will be closed, school bus pickup and drop-off, curbside garbage and recycling service, and business access will be maintained.
