Road construction has caused a change to bus routes in the City of Sheboygan.
Shoreline Metro has announced that, due to road work, Route 5S is unable to use Georgia Avenue, causing a detour.
The detoured route will now travel from Business Drive to Alabama Avenue to South 11th Street.
During the detour, bus riders will be able to access Route 5S at any corner along Alabama Avenue between Business Drive and 11th Street.
At this time, Shoreline Metro has said the detour will be in place until further notice.
The change in Route 5S comes in response to the road work project taking place on Business Drive between Union Avenue and Georgia Avenue.
Work being completed includes storm sewer improvements, curb and gutter repairs, concrete panel replacements, and pavement marking.
When announcing the construction project, Sheboygan’s Department of Public Works set a tentative completion date of sometime in June; however, it is unclear if the Shoreline Metro detour will be in effect for the duration of the project.
