Large item disposal days will be back in Sheboygan this year.
The Sheboygan Department of Public Works has alerted the public that, for the second year, the collection events will be held, beginning on May 16th.
Then, on the third Saturday of every month until October, subsequent large item disposal days will be held at the Municipal Service Building from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
On the purpose of bringing back these events in 2026, the DPW stated, “The large item disposal days are intended to assist residents in disposing of large waste items, thereby promoting cleaner and safer neighborhoods.”
All City of Sheboygan residents will be permitted to participate in the events; however, proof of residency may be required.
Items to be accepted include household furniture, mattresses, scrap metal, and other miscellaneous items, although items such as hazardous waste, tires, electronic waste, and construction materials will not be accepted.
For those who are looking to take part in any of the six large item disposal events, you are asked to be in line in your vehicle at the Municipal Service Building by no later than 12:30 p.m.
More information on the collection events, including a complete list of accepted and non-accepted items, parking restrictions, and instructions for entering and leaving the event, can be found by visiting the Sheboygan DPW Facebook page.
