
Just as it appeared Eastern Wisconsin gas prices were starting to recover, another major spike is affecting motorists.
Manitowoc County was one of the hardest hit counties in our area according to the AAA Gas Prices website.
The local average for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel jumped 33 cents since this time last week, bringing the average up above $4.00 for the first time since October of 2022.
This comes on the tail of two weeks of steady declines, giving motorists hope for a reprieve at the pump since the $1.30 spike experienced since the start of the Iran war.
Sheboygan County saw the biggest change over the past week, skyrocketing up 40 cents per gallon to an average of $4.02 per gallon, while Calumet County reported a 31-cent spike to $3.99.
Outagamie County’s average is up 24 cents to $3.94, while Brown County motorists are paying 28 cents more per gallon at the pump with an average of $3.96.
Kewaunee County reported an increase of 29 cents to $3.99, while Door County is up 31 cents to an even $4.00.
The state average was able to avoid the $4.00 threshold, jumping 27 cents to $3.96, while the national average rose 21 cents to $4.23.
