Bail has been set for a Sheboygan man arrested after fleeing from police in Manitowoc.
32-year-old Devonte D. Kieth was given a $250 cash bail yesterday (April 27th) by Manitowoc County Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch.
This comes as Keith has been charged with Resisting an Officer and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescriptions.
The 32-year-old was arrested on Saturday evening (April 25th) after Manitowoc Police spotted him behind the wheel of a car while his license was revoked.
Once contact was made with Keith, he became argumentative and eventually fled the scene on foot.
Eventually, with the help of K9 Riley, Keith was tracked down and taken into custody.
Upon his arrest, he was found with prescription pills, which, according to police, he was not prescribed.
However, during his bail hearing, it was explained that this charge remains an allegation, and he maintains that he did indeed have a prescription for the medication he was found with.
Additional terms of his bail include maintaining absolute sobriety, and he is not allowed to possess any controlled substances without a valid prescription.
Kieth will be back in court on Thursday (April 30th) for his initial appearance at 10:30 a.m. in Courtroom B-15.
