The Kaukauna Area School District has placed a teacher on administrative leave for a comment he made online regarding the recent assassination attempt on the president.
The X account called “Libs of TikTok” posted a screenshot of a post made by Patrick Meyer, a social studies teacher at Kaukauna High School, shortly after the thwarted attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
The post reads in part, “I am not impressed with the recent presidential assassins…Booth, Guiteau, Czolgosz, Oswald must be spinning in their graves.”
He was referencing John Wilkes Booth, who killed Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield assassin Charles Julius Guiteau, Leon Czolgosz, who shot William McKinley, and Lee Harvey Oswald, who killed John F. Kennedy.
The District has issued a statement, saying they have placed Meyer on administrative leave and that they are “taking additional action to review the matter in accordance with its policies and procedures.”
