K9 Riley helped Manitowoc Police Officers arrest a man fleeing from a warrant arrest.
An officer was on patrol in the area of Huron Street and Maritime Drive just after 7:30 Saturday evening, when they spotted a man known to be driving with a revoked license.
The officer made a U-turn and watched as the driver pulled into a driveway.
When the officer told the 32-year-old man that he was wanted on a probation warrant, the man allegedly became argumentative, saying he was not going back to jail.
He then fled from the officer, making his way across Huron Street and a field by Madison Elementary School.
Officer Place, who is also the handler for K9 Riley, spotted the man in the 600 block of North 5th Street and deployed his K9 partner.
The man quickly gave up and was detained on charges of Resisting an Officer and Possession of Illegally Obtained Prescriptions, as he was found with several medications.
He was also issued a citation for Operating While Revoked due to OWI.
