The 2026 February unemployment rates increased across Wisconsin’s 35 largest cities, including Manitowoc.
Non-seasonally adjusted rates from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development show that Manitowoc was at 3.6% in February 2025.
That number has gone up to 4.1% in February this year.
However, unemployment was at 3.6% for January 2026 as well. Manitowoc County’s unemployment rate also grew in February this year.
It was 3.7% in February 2025, but rose to 4.1% in February 2026.
The City of Sheboygan’s unemployment rate is also going up, from 3.2% in February last year to 3.7% in February this year.
Sheboygan County’s unemployment rate was 3.5% in February this year, compared to 3.1% in February last year.
Calumet, Brown, Kewaunee, and Door Counties also saw their unemployment rates rise slightly, with Door County posting the largest increase.
Unemployment rates have decreased in three Wisconsin counties over the year.
