A Manitowoc man has been arrested on drug distribution charges.
A Manitowoc Police officer made a traffic stop near the intersection of South 42nd Street and Dewey Street just before 2:45 p.m. yesterday (April 23rd).
The officer quickly realized that the driver, a 23-year-old Manitowoc man, did not have a valid driver’s license.
During the stop, the 23-year-old asked the officer to make the stop as quickly as possible because he had his children in the vehicle.
While speaking with the man, authorities found out that he had recently met up with his father, an individual known by police to be involved in the distribution of controlled substances.
Once learning this, K9 Rolo was called in to perform an open-air sniff of the vehicle, alerting the officer to the presence of drugs.
The car was subsequently searched, uncovering over 50 THC vape devices, multiple ounces of marijuana, a digital scale, and a fresh package of Ziplock bags.
Upon this discovery, the 23-year-old was arrested and transported to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of Possession with the Intent to Deliver THC, Keeping a Drug Vehicle, Child Neglect, and two counts of Felony Bail Jumping.
