The Kiel girls’ soccer team kept their hot streak alive yesterday as they played in New Holstein.
The Raiders took down the host Huskies 5-0 on the back of a phenomenal game in net by Apphia Sippel. She was aided by stellar defense from Callaway Goodman and Bella Schrage, while the offense attack started off slow.
Taavi Saeger gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead prior to halftime, after which the offense started to click.
Deanna Schwaller found the back of the net twice in the second half, and Cara Madison and Ella Vander-Meer would round out the scoring.
The Raiders are now 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in the EWC. Their defense has been a big reason for their success, as Kiel has only given up 2 goals all season.
Roncalli will try to give Kiel its first blemish next Thursday as the Jets invade the Raiders’ home pitch.
