The Sheboygan Police Department is reflecting on an event that recently came to an end.
This week, during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the department’s Victim Services Unit held its second annual Color for a Cause event, which aimed to raise awareness and visibility for those who fall victim to all kinds of crime.
On what the event signifies, Sheboygan Police stated, “Each piece of the puzzle being colored represents someone who cares. When completed, the display will serve as a visible reminder that behind every case is a person, and that our commitment to victims continues long after the initial response.”
During National Crime Victims’ Week, the department also noted that every victim deserves to be heard, supported, and treated with dignity.
To close, the Sheboygan Police Department said, “This week and every week, we stand with victims. Because their voices matter, and their rights matter too.”
For those who were unable to participate in the Color for a Cause event but would still like to support those impacted by crime, you can contact SPD’s Victim Services Coordinator, Britta West, by calling 920-459-3359.
