Valders Fire Rescue recently had the opportunity to train its firefighters.
The department and mutual aid partners hosted a live propane fire training, giving a rare opportunity to Valders and surrounding departments to see realistic, controlled fire conditions.
Firefighters took part in classroom instruction and hands-on live-fire scenarios involving grill fires, forklift incidents, bulk tanks, and propane piping systems.
Fire Chief Christopher Dallas explains that the training enhances their ability to respond safely to propane-related emergencies.
During training, flames reached 20 feet or more into the air, making them visible to residents.
Valders Fire Rescue finished by thanking Country Visions Cooperative for supporting the training.
A live video of the training can also be found on the Valders Fire Rescue Facebook page.
