A dozen Manitowoc County educators are being recognized for their hard work.
Tara Foytik, the Dean of Students at Jefferson Elementary School, is one of 42 educators in Eastern Wisconsin to be selected to receive an Excellence in Education Award.
She is one of nine educators specifically recognized for their student connections, a category which also includes Mishicot’s Brian Hammar, Karen Weidner, and Jennifer Wachowski, and Breanna Struck of Two Rivers.
Foytik said of the honor, “This recognition is quite humbling for me. I couldn’t do it without the amazing team at Jefferson that I am blessed to work with.”
The only other Manitowoc teacher on the list was Mark Romatowski in the Social and Emotional Well-Being category.
Mishicot was very well represented, with Becky Armbruster getting honored for her community involvement, along with her co-workers Kyle Junk and Dawn Shimek in the Innovation in Work category, and Sarah Hoffman for being a culture creator.
Also making the list are Two Rivers’ Shannon Meulbroek and Shelly Collette of Valders in the Social and Emotional Well-Being category.
All of the honorees will be recognized on May 16th at the Kohler Performing Arts Center.
