
Alice M. Bruss, age 70, a resident of Manitowoc, went to meet her Savior on Monday, April 20, 2026.
Alice was born on August 16, 1955 in Manitowoc to the late Norbert and Mabel (Treichel) Bruss. She was baptized on September 4, 1955 by Pastor Hensel and confirmed in her faith on April 1, 1973 by Pastor Glenn Unke at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. Alice graduated from Riverview School and was active at Holiday House (now Ascend). She was a lifelong member at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church and always looked forward to the visits from her Pastors.
Survivors include her loving cousins and guardians, Reiny and Sue Bruss; other cousins, Russell and Carole Greenslade, Clifford and Audrey Greenslade, Don and Scarlett George; special friends, Kris and Mike Beck; family of friends at Samaritan House; also other cousins, relatives and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Mabel Bruss; a cousin who Alice often remembered and shared a special bond, Joann George; also aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Rev. Matt Zimpelmann will officiate with burial to take place at Knollwood Memorial Gardens. Following the service, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Alice’s name that will be used to benefit the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church Expansion Project or other organizations that were important to Alice.
Alice’s family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Pastor Wilsmann, Pastor Haag, Pastor Zimpelmann, and Pastor Bowe for all of their prayers, visits, and thoughts. Further thanks to Lakeland Care Inc. for the support they provided to Alice.
Alice was blessed to be a resident at the Samaritan Home for many years. Tina and her staff were not just caregivers, they were wonderful loving friends to Alice and her family. We will never forget the care and compassion they showed Alice allowing her to stay at the home until her passing.
