Residents in Two Rivers may see a representative reviewing properties as part of the city’s assessment process.
Accurate Appraisal will conduct the assessment in the Cool City.
Property assessments will estimate a home’s market value and will determine how the overall property tax levy is fairly distributed among property owners.
However, the city reminds residents that a new assessment doesn’t guarantee that property taxes automatically go up or down.
Residents also do not have to let an assessor into their home.
The city is required by law to maintain accurate, up-to-date property values to ensure fairness and consistency across all properties.
Those who feel their assessment is unfair will have the opportunity to review it and discuss any concerns with the assessor during the Open Book process.
