An event put on by the Sheboygan Police Department that honors victims of crime is coming to an end.
The final day for Sheboygan PD’s Victim Services’ Color for a Cause event will be tomorrow (April 23rd), running from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Uptown Social.
This now annual event coincides with National Crime Victim Rights Week and aims to spread awareness while centered around this year’s theme of “Listen. Act. Advocate.”
During Color for a Cause, attendees are invited to create a small piece of artwork that will be used as a small piece of a larger puzzle, highlighting that, individually, small actions make a difference when zooming out to see the bigger picture.
The department’s Victim Services Coordinator will also be on hand to teach those in attendance about the program and the rights of crime victims.
Last year, after the collage was created, it was put on display for the public to see at Sheboygan’s City Hall.
