The City of Manitowoc is moving to purchase a school property.
The Common Council unanimously approved city staff to begin the process of making an offer to purchase the Madison Elementary School property for $1.00.
Mayor Justin Nickels says the city wants to acquire the land so it can have a say in what will go on the property.
The city also gave the property to MPSD in the 1950s so Madison Elementary School could be built.
We will have a more in-depth story about what comes next for the city and the Manitowoc Public School District.
