The verdict is in for a Green Bay man charged in the stabbing death of his AA sponsor and his dog.
35-year-old James Dorr was found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect on charges of 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Mistreatment of Animals, both with the Use of a Dangerous Weapon, while also being found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and two counts of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer.
Dorr was arrested in January of 2025 after a man and his dog were found dead in the 1500 block of Capitol Drive.
The 60-year-old man was said to have been stabbed 27 times prior to the dog being killed.
Dorr reportedly fled the scene despite being asked to stay by a witness who was calling 911.
Dorr, who was said to be homeless at the time, told police that he was having violent visions about loved ones and thought the world was ending, which is why he stabbed the man.
Dorr is due back in court on July 9th for a status conference ahead of his sentencing on July 10th.
