The Manitowoc Public School District is continuing to make upgrades at different schools.
The school board approved three bids on Tuesday (April 14th) for new electrical panels at several schools, new speakers and clocks for Jefferson Elementary School, and painting for Stangel Elementary School.
Buildings and Grounds Manager Mike Schwarz told the board that electrical panel upgrades were discussed with the district’s insurance company when he started three years ago.
The project will cost around $460,000, including a new generator for Stangel and a new panel for the Tech Ed Main building.
Hubbartt Electric will be tasked with replacing the public address system and clock system at Jefferson.
They will work to remove the old system and install new cables to connect clocks and speakers.
The MPSD school board also approved a contract with Lee’s Color Studio for painting at Stangel Elementary School.
Money for the building projects comes from the district’s $25 million referendum that was approved in 2025.
