A local community care center is preparing to honor those who served in the U.S. Military Once again.
Shady Lane Inc. is kicking off year two of its Salute to Service Banner Program this Spring.
The banners from last year and new orders have been received and will be hung on Dewey Street in time for Memorial Day, or from Shady Lane to Red Arrow Park. Salute to Service honors veterans, both living and deceased, and active-duty members of the Armed Forces from Manitowoc.
Each banner features an individual’s photo, name, branch of service, and or credentials.
Shady Lane Administrator Deanne Weier says the senior living campus is “thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize and honor the many veterans who have served and live in our community.”
Those interested in looking to do a banner in the future must have someone who is active, retired, or honorably discharged from the military and must be a Manitowoc County resident.
The person can also be an immediate family member of a current resident. Shady Lane would also need to see proof of residency and verification of active duty.
