A man charged in a weekend shooting near the UW-Oshkosh campus has been formally charged.
WBAY reports that 23-year-old Devon Price is facing 1st-degree reckless endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon, 1st-degree reckless injury with use of a dangerous weapon, concealing a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm while intoxicated.
The shooting incident took place near John Avenue and McKinley Street during an unsanctioned Pub Crawl, which is a popular drinking event that takes place twice a year.
A 17-year-old was hospitalized after a bullet hit his leg.
The victim got the bullet removed and was not involved in a fight that happened.
A criminal complaint alleges that the 23-year-old walked into a restaurant crying saying, “I just killed someone” and appeared to get rid of the gun.
Oshkosh Police would later pull him over while he was driving and they couldn’t find the firearm.
Price would later tell police that he was punched in the eye while grabbing his sweatshirt at the event.
He then says he “went black” and does not recall pull the firearm or shooting anyone.
A tip led Oshkosh police officers to recover a Ruger semi-auto handgun with serial number scratched off.
