Manitowoc Public Schools’ next athletics and activities director has been named.
Molly Wilsmann will take over for Stan Dietrich on July 1st after he decided to step down.
Wilsmann has served in the district since 2017 as a science teacher, varsity assistant coach, advisor, and mentor.
The district says she’s also played a key role in strengthening student leadership and school culture at Lincoln, including developing the school’s leadership course and expanding opportunities for student involvement.
Superintendent Lee Thennes says Molly understands what makes Ship’s athletics and activities special.
She also “brings strong leadership, clear vision, and a deep commitment to student success.”
Wilsman says she’s deeply humbled to take on the challenge as athletics director, saying, “I’ve grown up in the gym, I’ve worn the Ships uniform proudly.”
She also hopes the future of Ship’s athletics and activities will see all students find a place for themselves in the opportunities their district provides.
Wilsmann holds a Master of Education in Education Policy and Leadership from Marquette University and a bachelor’s degree in biology and Spanish from UW-Madison.
