The 2026 spring turkey hunting season is now open.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters across the state that the spring season opens today (April 15th) and will run through May 26th.
In Wisconsin, the spring turkey season is broken down into six seven-day periods, which run from Wednesday through the following Tuesday, meaning period A will end on April 21st.
Over the next month and a half, all seven turkey management zones across the state will be open, with Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties falling in zone two.
The DNR is also reminding the public that all turkey hunters are required to bring along their spring turkey license, a wild turkey stamp, and a valid harvest authorization with them while hunting.
Turkey harvest registration is also mandatory for any hunter who gets one and is required to be completed by no later than 5:00 p.m. the day after a turkey is harvested.
Turkey harvest registrations can be completed online at gowild.wi.gov or over the phone by calling 920-426-3734.
As always, the DNR urges safety during this and all hunting seasons and encourages all hunters to brush up on their hunter safety guidelines.
