The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Flood Warning for the Manitowoc River near the city of Manitowoc until further notice.
Where the river is measured to flood stage, it was 10.4 feet at noon today (Tuesday), cresting to 10.7 feet, breaking the previous high crest of 10-and-a-half feet recorded on June 1st, 2004.
The full-stage bank is 8 feet, with a flood stage of 10 feet. It’s currently 7 inches above flood stage. Widespread flooding of lowland and agricultural land is reported.
Several roads are now closed or could be, and motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or through flooded areas.
